PROJECT DESCRIPTION
of Parisian private mansions of the 18th and 19th centuries,
where entertainment was held
across a series of rooms with codified uses.
Antechamber, salon, dining room,
ballroom, withdrawing cabinet.
Each calibrated for what was done there,
connected to one another in free progression.
The place brings this structure into the present.
Six rooms, six ways of being there,
a path that organises itself for each visitor.
The music that suits the place
replaces what was once played in the salons.
Atmosphere takes precedence, but it answers to
use.
It decides whether one stays or moves to the next room,
and it is what justifies the place.

Double-threshold entry.
HELD BREATH
Suspended panels in frontal alignment,
with visible diaphragm and synchronous lighting drive of the signal.
CARDIN
Comb-plan layout, four-seat booths with full-height solid partitions.
Long benches, narrow table.
The face-to-face is tight, the side-to-side stays loose.
VELVET NIGHT
Funktion-One system in Point Source configuration,
completed by a dedicated Infrabass
and tuned to the room through chamber acoustic treatment.
Manual calibration, night by night, by a sound engineer attached to the venue.

Open plan, multi-position platforms.
SOOT OBSVERVATORY
Room under dome. Integrated acousmonium,
an array of loudspeakers arranged around the listener
for the spatialised diffusion of electroacoustic music,
performed in real time by a diffusionist.
