NAPPE FROIDE
Circular seats — full-length curtains — luminous reflux
A suspended space, open in form yet detached in feel.
Raking light, heavy textures, familiar shapes slightly off.
Everything follows a strict layout, almost ceremonial.
The oddness stays quiet, but present.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
(Long-form text written for installation context)
A quiet scene, open in plan but disconnected from the outside by its atmosphere.
The scale of the space, the grazing light, the near-uniform use of materials create a shift —
as if one were transported elsewhere.
The circular seats evoke food-like forms — cakes, sponge, whipped cream.
Their presence brings a distorted sense of domesticity, almost ceremonial.
The contrast between the generous volumes and the black fall of the skirts introduces tension:
apparent comfort versus the strangeness of a tightly controlled space.
Textiles fully cover walls and ceiling.
They absorb sound and erase any trace of use.
The red floor, dense and saturated, draws the eye and sets a muffled, almost authoritarian tone.
There is a link with certain closed cinematic spaces —
where each element follows its own logic, without revealing why.
The project also draws from institutional interiors —
congress halls, ministerial lobbies, ceremonial rooms —
often marked by a precise, diplomatic, sometimes rigid approach.
Everything is aligned, silent, without warmth.
Nappe Froide doesn’t repeat that system.
It extracts something quiet, almost still.
Each element exists at the scale of a runway or a silent presentation.
Everything holds.
Everything waits.
